Navigating Your First Steps

Congratulations on being accepted to North Idaho College as a Career and Technical Education student! We are here to help you every step of the way. Learn how to set up your student account, activate your email, schedule advisor appointments and prepare for placement exams with ease.

1. Get Started

Set up your student accounts and access your NIC email to stay connected from day one.

2. Sign up for SOAR

New students must attend a Student Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR) session.

Reserve your spot now!

After signing up for the Student Orientation, please complete all of the remaining steps to ensure you can register for classes at your session.

*If you have previously taken courses at NIC and are returning, you do not need to sign up for SOAR. Please contact the CTE Administrative Assistant at techadvising@nic.edu or call (208) 769-3448 for a registration appointment.

3. Submit your Advising Profile

Advisors use this information to ensure your SOAR experience is meaningful and that your academic plan and course registration align with your goals and needs.

Your Math and English assessment scores help advisors place you in the courses that best support your success.
